Terms of Service — Narrator Hub
The short version
- Narrator Hub is a tool for tracking audiobook narration work. You bring your projects and contacts; we keep them, show them back to you, and do the sums.
- Your work is yours. We claim no ownership of anything you put in, and we do not use it to train anything or to sell to anyone.
- Right now the product is free and billing is not switched on. When that changes, we will tell you first.
- You can leave whenever you like and take your data with you.
- We are a small operation. The service is provided as-is, and we do not promise it will never be down.
The rest is the same thing in the detail a contract needs.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Dean Miller Narration LLC, 2415 S Heather St, Cornelius, OR 97113 ("we", "us"), covering your use of Narrator Hub at mynarratorhub.com and app.mynarratorhub.com (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 16 and able to enter a contract. If you are using Narrator Hub for a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got in.
3. Your workspace, and people you invite
A workspace belongs to the person who created it. That person can invite others — an editor, an assistant — and decide what they can do.
If you invite someone, you are responsible for who you invite. Anything they do in your workspace counts as done under your account.
4. What you put in, and who owns it
You own your content. Projects, contacts, notes, rates, dates — all of it stays yours.
You grant us only the permission we need to run the Service: to store your content, process it, and display it back to you and to people you invite. That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.
Where you upload artwork or other material you did not create — book covers in particular — you confirm you have the right to store it here and to let us display it back to you and to people you invite.
We will not:
- claim ownership of your content;
- use it to train machine-learning models;
- sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone outside the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy;
- read it except where we genuinely need to in order to fix a problem you have reported, keep the service secure, or comply with the law.
5. Information about other people
Narrator Hub asks you to store details of people you work with — authors, co-narrators, producers, editors. Those people have not agreed to anything with us.
You are responsible for the personal information you enter about other people. Enter what you need for the working relationship, keep it accurate, and remove it when it is no longer useful. If someone asks you to delete their details, delete them.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we treat that information. If one of those people contacts us directly, we may need to ask you to correct or remove an entry.
6. Money
Narrator Hub does not currently charge for anything. No card is required and no payment is taken. This section describes what will happen when that changes, and this page will be updated — and you will be told — before it does.
When paid subscriptions start:
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance, automatically, to the payment method you provide.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- A free trial of 30 days applies to new workspaces. You will not be charged during it, and we will tell you before it ends.
- Cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next payment. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.
- We do not give partial refunds for time you have not used, unless the law where you live says otherwise, or something went wrong on our side — in which case ask, and we will be reasonable.
- Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we will give at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not want the new price, cancel before it takes effect.
- Prices are exclusive of tax unless stated. Where we are required to collect sales tax or VAT, it is added at checkout.
- If a payment fails, we will retry and email you. If it keeps failing, we may suspend the workspace — we will not delete your data for non-payment without telling you first.
7. What you may not do
Do not:
- break the law with it, or use it to help someone else do so;
- try to get into other people's workspaces, or probe, scan or attack the service;
- resell or white-label the Service without our written agreement;
- upload malware, or content you have no right to store;
- use it to store the kinds of data that carry special legal duties — health records, payment card numbers, government ID numbers. It is not built for that.
Automated access for your own workspace is fine in moderation. Scraping, hammering our servers, or reselling access is not.
8. Availability, and what we do not promise
We try hard to keep Narrator Hub running and your data safe. But:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every need you have.
- There is no uptime guarantee. We are a small operation, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
- We may change features, add them, or remove them. If we remove something you rely on, we will give reasonable notice.
- We may need to take the service down for maintenance. We will avoid doing it at short notice where we can.
- Keep your own records. We take backups, but Narrator Hub should not be the only place a business-critical figure exists.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Estimates are estimates
Narrator Hub calculates figures from what you enter — expected earnings, finished hours, schedules, deadlines. It is careful about this: where an input is unknown, it says so rather than guessing.
But the figures are estimates and you use them at your own judgement. They are not financial, tax, or legal advice, and we are not liable for a business decision made on the strength of one. Check anything that matters against your contract.
10. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost work, or lost data.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
11. Ending it
You can close your account at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data and how long we keep it.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm others or the service, or where we are required to by law. Except where the law or an emergency prevents it, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right, and to take a copy of your data.
If we ever shut the Service down entirely, we will give at least 60 days notice by email so you can export everything.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
If a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, close your account.
13. The legal bits
- Governing law: the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
- Disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Oregon, and you and we both agree to that. Nothing stops either of us seeking an injunction where one is needed.
- We would rather talk first. Email us before filing anything; most problems are a misunderstanding and take ten minutes.
- These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
- Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given up the right to.
- You may not transfer these terms to someone else. We may transfer them if the business is sold, and will tell you if that happens.
